Moto Racer is a Direct3D motor cycle racing game. You start out with an initial 4 race tracks
Speed Bay
Snow Ride
West Way
Dirt Arena
There are another 4 tracks that you can get to either by winning the first four tracks, or by typing cdnalsi for your name:
Rock Forest similar to Speed Bay and West Way

The game is playable with or without a 3D hardware accelerator, but for better graphics and faster play a 3D accelerator is recommended. Currently the 3Dfx board is best supported directly from the CD.
An updated patch for the D3D is now available. There is vast improvements made with regards to the PowerVR chip, and some speed increase with 3Dfx. I will be posting up screenshots soon.
Unfortunetely the patch does not include an 800x600 mode so it is essentially only going to give you the same performance that can currently be obtained by the 3Dfx card, but I would have to say that the graphics look to be a bit crisper.
Without the patch both the original Apocalypse 3D and the new Apocalypse 3Dx have problems with the color keying of textures. The original game was designed without searching for capability flags that would tell it what the hardware does or does not support. This prevents the card from display the 3D image correctly. The new patch enables the use of transparent textures rather than color keying and is also expected to have increased performance and texture enhancements.
Currently the best card for play is a Nvidia board for a Pentium 200 or slower machine; however, if you have a fast Pentium 200 some systems are faster than others due to motherboards hard driver, memory, cache, etc. or faster CPU and you have the new patch for the PowerVR based boards you may disagree- the patch is simply fantastic graphically.
3Dfx comes close to the Nvidia performance; however, the speed difference between the 3Dfx and the Nvidia would not be justification replace the 3Dfx for this game. Both cards show roughly the same graphical performance.

Hi, today, I bought this collection to relive the good old days of playing Moto Racer 1, but SURPRISE, yesterday, the patch made the game unbootable timing FTW.
Searching the web, I found out about the GOG version and managed to download a cough pirated cough copy, and it worked just fine.I inspected the folders and after some testing, I managed to put the Steam version working perfectly with sound and all that. I have uploaded the files that made the game work here:

Just copy the content of the folder that is inside the archive to I use Win 7 :

Make a desktop shortcut for MotoRacerLauncher Don t start the game with Steam and it may work now.
If it works, then I am glad that I was helpful. If not, then what I can suggest is for you to do as I did and try getting the GOG version, and after running the game once, copy the same files that I putted in the archive, in the Steam version s folder, but rename the launcher as I did, in order to prevent any conflicts with the Steam one.
